Entomology 101 with Brian Richter

  • Community Campus - Bullion Room 1050 Fox Acres Road Hailey, ID, 83333 United States (map)

Have you ever found yourself scratching your head over which fly to use while fishing? Don't worry, you're not alone! It's like trying to crack a secret code when you’re learning! But fear not, this class is your ultimate guide for the fly selection mystery.

We get it – whether you're a newbie, an expert, or somewhere in the middle of your fishing journey, figuring out what fish fancy and matching it with the right flies can be tricky. In our class, you're going to dive deep into the fascinating world of bugs and their wild life cycles, plus all the other delectable munchies fish can't resist. But here's the fun part: after we've taken you on this adventure through the fishy buffet, we'll turn around and show you how to make it easy to know exactly what to do when you walk up to a new body of water. You'll be picking the perfect flies like a pro, and you'll wonder why you ever thought it was a mystery in the first place!

This will be held at the Community Campus in the Bullion Room. Registration will be limited to 20 people and will cost $5 per person. In an effort to be able to better plan for this event, there will be a $5 charge to attend. We hope that by adding a small charge to these events, it will ensure that those who RSVP “yes” are committed to attending so that we are able to adequately plan for the necessary gear, equipment, snacks/beverages, and space required to put on the event.

If the cost of attending an event or obtaining a membership presents a financial obstacle, we encourage you to reach out to our team regarding sponsorship to attend this event for free.
